It is on the vertical face of the case, facing the engine. The drain plug requires a 24mm wrench, and the hex head of the plug is very shallow (only about half the thickness of a regular bolt head).
If doing a drain-and-refill of the fluid, buy 4 quarts of a name brand Dexron-III auto tranny oil. Drain out old oil, add three quarts of new oil, check fluid level as per owner's manual instructions, then add additional oil from 4th quart as needed to top off tranny.
If replacing with synthetic oil, buy a full case and repeat the above instructions three or four times with short drives between each draining.
