Milky low on the dipstick

My 99 9-5 auto w/115K miles had the dreaded milky substance on the bottom of the dipstick a few weeks ago. I wipe it off and rechecked a few times after engine was cool and it was always covering about the bottom half of the plastic ball shape at the end of the stick. I immediately drained the oil and replaced with new filter. I captured the first 1-1/2 quarts in a clear container to see if coolant was present but after letting it sit overnight, it all looked the same normal dark amber. After a few weeks it has not reappeared but I am still concerned because I read some earlier posting stating that if you have milky substance up high on the dipstick it is normal condensation from short trip driving but if the bottom part of the dipstick is milky then it is a problem.

One other observation is that the coolant level has not dropped as far as I can see. Part of me just wants to close my eyes and hope that the bogeyman stays away but I think it is best to seek advice from my Saab Family. Thanks for any comments, ToddH
