I just re-read your post and it looks you already just about there. I am assuming that you mean that you have a broken blend door control arm or a broken stop arm.
remove the air temp sensor from the square duct that you see pointing toward the floor (it pops out) then remove the duct (2 screws) The other white connector you see goes to the stepper motor. disconnect and remove the motor (2 screws).
now pull out the broken part of the shaft. you have two repair choices:
- easier costs $200: buy aluminum repair part from the thesaabsite.
- harder is about $5: fix the shaft using 1/2" cpvc pipe.
- if you only have a broken stop arm you can replace it with the plastic or aluminum part ~$25
