Thanks to all who replied, smart-aleck remarks and all. :o) I asked because there was a mid-year change in '01 from the 130A to the 140A unit. I wasn't sure if it was merely an extra 10 amps or a physical change to the mounting points, etc. Seeing that I've not had to touch much of anything on my 9-5, I wasn't certain. Now, a 9000... heck, I can change an alternator in an early car in an hour or so! ;-)
I seriously considered a rebuild, but there's not a shop equipped to rebuild one locally, and the closest auto electric place (half hour north) is one the local dealer hasn't had much luck with.
Sooo, I went with the reman from the site sponsor and had it overnighted. Back in the Aero tomorrow afternoon and the '86 9k goes back into the garage as weekend beater/truck substitute.
Thanks again, all.
