Hi All,

I have read through some of the recent posts and still have some questions. I am in for search of a replacement for our 1990 VW Jetta and am seriously considering a Saab 9-5. I have always loved the look of the Saab and haven't test driven one since I was in college back in the early 80's. I still remember the one in the back of the dealerships service area that had been smashed beyond belief and still had the passenger compartment intact !

This would be a second car for us ( the other is the big Ford family van, sort of like driving your living room around :) ). It seems like the Saabs have become rather expensive on breakdown items. Although I never skimp on maintenance on my current vehicles I wasn't sure what to expect from the newer Saabs.

This car would also be driven by my wife and soon to be driving daughter so while I am well aware of the Saab safety I don't want to get into a car that is always breaking down. I hate to get them stuck anywhere.

Anyway I am looking for suggestions from the board about what year Saab might make a good used car. I really love the look of the 9-5 Aeros but it doesn't have to be an Aero. It seems the 9-5 has more room than the 9-3. I am 6 foot so room helps.

We are in the Cleveland area and have a dealership (Shaker Saab)
about 5 miles away(always hated dealership experiences) and another place about 5 miles away that seems to have an abundance of Saabs that they sell on the internet through Ebay(don't know how they get all those. It would be nice to buy from local possible individual seller.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions !

Pat
