Hey, I`ve seen this post before! But it is all true, and from someone who knows.

I run two SW, a MY99 Linear 170 HP (the one that is mixed per ML) and a MY05 Arc 220HP, and I keep prefering the older one. I haven`t really ever needed the extra 50HP, because I never get the engine to 4500 rpm, but the mid range torque is just right for passing anytime.

On long trips, I prefer the MY99, because it gets better gas mileage. Otherwise, all I can add is that both of them have Thule top carriers, which gives me more room than minivans, and since most of our driving is around town, there is little or no sacrifice of fuel economy.

I also have one of the roll up cartridge head-ache protectors for the cargo area (MY99) and both SW`s have the pull out cargo floor, which is pretty cool when you need to take off muddy boots, or have a roadside picnic with the kids.

I do like to use the paddle shifter on the MY05 to keep me out of trouble in 50 kmh (30 mph) zones, just leaving it in second for a bit, because it is easy to get carried away....
