I have two covers, for my two SW (MY99, MY05), and they are not the same size, exactly. They are both beige, but not quite the same length. If you get really stuck, change it at the dealer.
Double check that there is nothing blocking the forward slot by the back of the rear seats. My wife could not figure out how to get it flat, until I showed her that the edge has to go all the way into the slot.
It turns out that the fit was slightly worse for one cover than the other. If it is not all the way in at the front, the back will keep popping up.
The other thing to check is the rear slot. Tuck the last panel forward and up, before sliding it back into the rear slot. You can't bring the panel down on top at the back, into secure position.
Cheers,
CrNiFe
