Folks are very fond, as you are, of the V6. The fours are rougher at idle, but somewhat smoother and quieter at speed. The fours get better fuel economy, rougly 10% better and this includes the high output Aero which means even the Aeros get better economy than the V6's. There's always the cambelt issues with the V6's, but that's not until 120k miles and as you noted, the V6's dodge several of the four's issues.
If you drive a V6 and a four back to back you can feel the extra weight of the V6 up front. But that's not the least big obvious until you drive them back to back.
