Flex pipe replacement - questions?

'02 Aero, 100k miles. Need to replace flex pipe, rest of exhaust looks ok. Have searched on subject, just need to confirm. Upon inspection of pipe and connections, looks like there are fixed studs on front of flex going into downpipe, as well as fixed studs from front of mid muffler going into flex pipe? If this is the case, royal pita to cut these and then drill out holes. New flex pipe (from eeuroparts) does not have fitted studs, and even if it did, I would remove them prior to install, and replace with stainless steel bolts and nuts.
