So far it seems to be working but I have not had the oppurtunity to do that many head gaskets on these newer engines compared to the older ones using a fiber head gasket (which never had an oil leak problem to begin with in that area).
Just about 100% of the 99 and up cars coming in have the oil leak from that rear point but I don't upsell head gaskets left and right to cure it since it is more of an annoyance problem than serious. And the ones where it is leaking very bad, they don't want to spend the money to fix it either.
Yeah, I just put an extra thin layer around that timing chain area, 7-8 head bolt and oil galley.
