Ok, I broke down and finally brought mine in. It seems to work better now. Here is what they did. Based on the pressure in the system it appeared full or close to it. Apparently there are two different ways to check the level of your coolant (besides the glass). The most common is by pressure. The other is by weight. The dealer had a "more accurate" machine that measures the coolant by weight. I had 0.9 lbs and should have had 2 lbs. So they added 1.1 lbs to the system and now at 90 degrees outside the middle vent is blowing at 43 degrees and cooled the cabin down in a hurry. (Strangely however, the system pressure didn't increase much even with twice as much coolant)
Oh and the ac related whining noise I had heard is now gone.
Total for parts and labor, an unbelievable $400.
