We got our first Saab recently (2001 9-5 SE wagon), and after driving it for the first few hundred miles, we have been very happy with it. However, we do have a few beefs which are listed below. Some of these we have read about in this discussion list. (Our other car is an Acura 3.2 CL, and that's what we always end up comparing it with.)
- Rotten egg smell : read enough about this one!
- Noisy V6 engine, insufficient low rpm power (compared to the CL) : although we have been trying to lay off the turbo and sport mode till we hit 1000 miles.
- Extremely short remote range : something to do with the integrated key+remote.
- Key gets stuck very often after ignition is turned off, need to jiggle shifter to get the key to pop : will be talking to the dealer about this at the 30 day tuneup.
- Car rolls back on slope while in gear : almost felt like a manual in a parking garage yesterday, where we had to go up several levels in heavy traffic.
- Rear left door needs to be closed hard : that took some time to get used to.
- Driver door wouldn't open even when unlocked, had to lock and unlock it : this happened only once and we'll see if it happens again.
All in all, we are very satisfied. We knew about the first three before we bought the car, so there is nothing to complain about really.
