While an alignment can be done anywhere, I usually don't recommend the quick places like Firestone. Sure they can do the job fine sometimes, but every now and then you get a shacky employee who just won't do it right, and will often take you more than one trip to get the alignment correct in the first place. You will most likely get it aligned eventually, but it 'could' be a hassle.
Obviously it could go the other way, and maybe you have a great Firestone near you, and they do an excellent job - in which case it's a great deal.
I would get it done at the dealer, or a non-chain auto shop. For me, I use the gas station down the street from me. They are small but if it's not right they fix it and I always like to give them my business.
I guess I just have a sour taste in my mouth from Firestone and the lifetime alignment - of the people I've talked to, they said they needed to use it a few times just to get it right in the first place.
