Ok guys, I have a question, I faithfully change my oil on my 1999 9-5 se 2.3 lpt it has 131k miles and ran like a top until saturday afternoon. I was having some exhaust work done at a local chain and figured while it was up I would have the oil changed, I asked them if the had on file the recomended oil and filters for it and they said yes, it was all good. So about 100 miles into this oil change I noticed a big puff of the deaded grey smoke out of my exhaust, Got a little worried about that and and checked my oil, The back pressure coming out of my filler tube was quite a bit but the oil was full. Sunday the puff of grey smoke got even worse and monday the car was undrivable. I started the car in my driveway and the smoke was just pouring out the exhaust, yet the turbo let go, and the pressure in the oil tube was really bad, so my question is this. They put a valvoline VO-25 filter on there, And noplace can I find that this fliter fits my car, Does anybody know that this is the correct filter or not correct filter? would the wrong filter make all this backpressure in the engine ? I did have the pcv update # 6 done about a year ago so I am pretty sure it's not that. Is there any place I can look up to see if this filter could have been the culprit to my turbo going bad ? Any help on this would be appreciated...
