You can jack it where you did if you use a piece of 2x4 lumber to spread the load. Jack stand can go just where the frame rail curves up into the engine compartment. You haven't damaged anything other than cosmetically.
Easier to jack the front right under the center of the crossmember - there's a hole there to locate some special jack that I don't have. Then you can place both jack stands at once.
I jack the rear under the center of my trailer hitch. Not sure if you can jack from the same point with no hitch - without a hitch there's a tow hook there.
The official jacking points are on the rocker panel seam just in front of the rear wheels and behind the front wheels. It's marked with a triangle on the plastic rocker molding (runs front to rear beneath the doors). If you use anything except the poor-excuse-for-a-jack-that-Saab-provides then you need to spread the load again with a piece of wood.
