Having just replaced the timing chain case cover on a '01 95 Aero, I had all those bits off the engine. Pump was not difficult to remove at all, nor was the bracket. This presumes you have all the bits above it and around it taken off as well. Mass Air Flow sensor, , intake hose, by pass valve . Not sure if you need to remove the upper engine mount (pass side US), but if it gives you more room, you should. Just put a column jack with a piece of wood on top of it under the oil sump. There is no mystery to the pump mounting, as Roger notes, you access some of the bolts thru the pulley. The pump itsels is a tight fit into the bracket. Once all bolts are out, it lifts upward and out of the pivot point on the bracket. Again, tight fit, so beware. To do the WP, you need as much room as possible, so I would remove the pump bracket as well. Just take your time, mark and bag all the bits you remove, with notes to yourself of any special characteristics, like the 2 copper washers on the turbo coolant lines. Solid coolant pipe to turbo, solid coolant lines going across the front of the engine, all need to be removed. Insert in the block is really in there tight. I did not remove this bit, and merely put WP back in it when I reassembled everything. Good luck- Tom S.
