We're on our third 9-5 wagon, an '04 Arc CPO car. Great deal, and the 9-5 wagon is a great car. We go back 34 years with SAABs. Our first was a Typ 96 3-cylinder 2-stroke. A can of oil with 8 gallons of gas, and down the road you went, trailing a thin blue haze. Since then we've had 14 -or 15- SAABs, and think highly enough of them to buy more. The 9-5 is the best SAAB we've ever driven, and I hope the new generation will maintain the tradition.
As far as the other choices mentioned, the Volvo is completely lacking in character, and the Subaru Outback has less room in the front seat than a VW Jetta. We looked around last time before buying, and still bought a SAAB. Second place winner? Nissan Altima SE.
