Hi,
I have a 2001 9-5 with about 55k on it. Yesterday, while driving home, I noticed the driver's seat getting warmer and warmer. The switch was off and hadn't been turned on in months.
When I got home, and after messing with things for a while, I noticed that the passenger seat wouldn't warm up, but the driver's seat appeared to be stuck on high. I first removed the driver's side controller and the passenger side started to work normally. I swapped the controllers out (driver's side to the passenger side and vice versa) and it did just the opposite. The passenger side was stuck on high and the driver's side no longer worked. I removed the faulty controller (now on the passenger side) and the driver's side worked as expected.
I’ll probably just replace both controllers, but I thought that maybe some of you have experienced this. Maybe the problem isn’t what it appears to be? I’m not sure how one controller is affecting the other.
It’s June in Denver and I’m in no hurry to replace them. I’ve just pulled the fuse in the mean time. I look forward to your responses.
Thanks in advance
