I agree that there are lots of factors that affect hot cold problems. While fuel injected cars are less likely to completely vapor lock, they can and do "boil" the fuel sitting in the fuel rail under certain conditions, Mostly hot restarts after a brief (15-30 min) shutdown. I have had 3 diferent makes of cars have this issue. The first was fixed via a thermostatically controlled fan that blew air across the rail, the second with insulation, and now the SAAB. The thing that truly puzzles me is it has not been that hot yet this summer, the fuels have not changed in my area, (we had ethanol blends last year), the car is only 1 year / 12K miles old, and this did not happen last summer. So either the fuels did change or something failed. One thing I have not noticed is the radiator fan running after shutdown. Other cars I have had did this. Does an '06 9-5? If it does then that may be the issue as the underhood temps would be considerabley higher. The cooling system works fine other wise. BTW, the driveability problem clears itself after 5-10 miles of driving. Basically I am stumped. Any other ideas?
