2001 9-5 LPT 5 spd w/90K and original PCV setup. Purchased used at 67K. Has had regular oil changes with full synthetic every 5-8K since I've owned it, but the original history was questionable with only the free dealer service being documented. Starting to get some significant oil consumption (1 qt/1500 mi but no visible smoke). After reading some of the posts on another forum, I decided to have my indy drop the pan when he did the 90K.

He was rather reluctant but went ahead and did it at my urging. He also installed PCV kit #6 since mine was all original (but in good shape). Afterward he said "it was probably a good idea" - he found minor sludge build-up in the area of the oil pickup, and the screen was already slightly blocked. I am really glad I had it done and will be more careful with oil changes from here on out. I will also monitor the oil consumption to see if the PCV kit makes a difference.
