1999 saab 9-5 lpt 126k miles massive rain just after 9pm in colorado springs, I got pushed into a turn lane off powers by a truck that had went off course into my lane from beside me, I hit the brakes and rolled into water that was at my door trim half way up my doors when my car stalled right as i shut the key down.....jumped out of my drivers window, mind you with my wife and two boys in the car and a trunk full of groceries I pushed my car back out onto dry land and called usaa for a good old fashioned tow away. Towed car to house put it in the garage and began tearing into it at about 11pm got done with what i needed to do by 6:30am as far as letting it open to air
dry. Intercooler was about half full with water and so was the turbo on the inlet side. exhaust was full all the way up to the first o2 sensor due to when the car stalled the water was high enough to flow through....suprising enough there was no water in the crankcase oil is at normal level also....I almost have to think that its the 3" delivery pipe that saved my motor, going from factory inlet to that 3" on the otherside of my intercooler must be like trying to suck water through a broken straw. Anywayz the car is running good, passed its short drive today of about 10 miles....going for the gold and driving it to work tomorrow to dry out the catalyst. *should look like a cadillac the way the exhaust will pour water out.
