The usual suspect for a small colant leak is the coolant (or heater) by-pass valve. Has yours been replaced yet?
I can't recall any coolant lines on the L4 engine being in that area. The upper radiator hose is close, but is so easy to see and inspect that I assume you already did that.
What about a cracked coolant recovery bottle? That sits directly above where you described you discovered the puddle.
