If you install a used SID from an identical model (i.e. Base, SE, Aero) you won't need to do anything.
If you install a new SID you will receive a "SID UNPROGRAMMED" message on the SID each time you start the car.
The sid needs to know the engine type and wheel/tire size to accurately compute the Distance Till Empty and Average Fuel Economy values. The SID will use default values until programmd via a Tech-II.
Not exactly life altering if you don't have it programmed immediately.
