60000 mile service Posted by Ryan [Email] (#2222) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ryan) on Sat, 25 Aug 2007 16:43:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey all-- thanks for the info on the intake. So here's my issue-- I took my '03 Linear to Frank Boucher Saab in Racine, WI for the 60K service. I told them to do the service, sans plugs and an oil change (plugs were just replaced, as was the Mobil 1) Here's what they did: rotated the tires and flushed the auto trans. That's it. No air filter, no fuel filter, no belts. I'm furious, as they blatently ignored my direction, and didn't do the work that Saab indicates.
Here's the question: what actually needs to be done at 60K? Is it what Saab calls for, or am I wasting my money? This is my first one, I've been seriously disappointed by the reliability (got a new turbo under warranty at 43K) I'm looking at having to take it to another Saab dealership in Milwaukee that quotes a flat $795 for the 60K service. I'd rather not spend the money if I can a) do the work that needs to be done myself or b) not worry about the prescribed stuff if it's a waste.
Any thoughts?
