My dad has the EXACT same opinions about cars as yours seems to, haha. He drives a 1996 Dodge Caravan and loves the thing because it gets him from point A to point B. Actually his car just sits in the garage because he rides his bike to work every day (about 2 miles away). I'm 18 right now, but when I was 16 looking at A4's, Jettas, and 325i's he was looking for an early '90's Corolla for me. I told him there was no way in hell I would be driving a Corolla (especially because they were making me pay for the car), and my mom actually backed me up on that one. (She wanted lots of airbags and safety goodies for me).

Then my dad comes home from work one day and tells me his boss has an '01 Saab 9-5 V6 sedan he's trying to get rid of (159k miles for $5k needing some TLC). Holy crap I was so excited and my dad actually went for it! And yes, "Saab Story" came up MULTIPLE times, as he had a 1972 (I think) Saab 99e when he was in his early 20's and he had had some experiences...

Every once in a while we'll take my car out and I'll let him drive. I'll never forget the time we were at a red light behind a souped up Mitsubishi Lancer. The kid took off (really fast) and my dad kept up. I love my car- the way it looks, the way it sounds, etc... I haven't done much to it with mods, as there aren't too many things to do to the V6. Right now it's burning oil smoking a lot after accelerating and needs a new turbo to the tune of about $2k. My mom would give me the money on the spot but my dad wants to see some first semester grades first :(. Oh well, I guess that's fair. What year do you have? Just Curious.
