Great posts, exactly what I needed to know.
I like the idea of an aftermarket ECM but this car is the 3.0 V-6. I have not seen an aftermarket ECM for this engine.
I have attempted to hold the unlock button before and while the key is in the start position and still no crank.
I turned the key to the run position and pushed the trunk unlock button. No results. After being in the run position for a few seconds, a plus sign appears on the SID at the top left of the "key not accepted" message. Does this mean anything?
bobc gave me a link to an aftermarket programmer that I sent an email to asking for details to see if this would fix the problem. But if as you say, the keys are already properly married to the twice, it may not.
This is my fifth Saab and I currently own three. I have no problems giving this to someone with a TechII to fix if I know that will solve the problem.
If you have any additional thoughts or suggestions, please post.
