Symptoms:

* 2000 9-5 SE V6 SportWagon's alternator, serp belt tensioners, and battery were recently replaced by Saab-specialist indy. Symptoms started sometime after that. Car has about 75k miles.
* DRL fuse is removed.
* With headlamp switch in rightmost position, headlamps and dashboard lights are off. Flash-to-pass works. Sometimes, if you activate the right-turn signal, both low beams flash along with the turn signal at the usual cadence, but the left-turn signal works normally.
* With headlamp switch in the middle (straight-up) position, headlamps work as expected (for a car with US headlight programming). Low beams on, highs come on for flash-to-pass feature, dash lighting is on. Sometimes, if you activate the right-turn signal, the turn signal starts stuttering or flashing at a faster-than-normal cadence. Left-turn signal works normally. Parking lights remain on when car is turned off and key is removed.
* With headlamp switch in the leftmost (off) position, function is identical to the switch in the rightmost position, including the occasional flashing headlamps.
* The orange headlamp relay was replaced without a change in symptoms.
* There is no obvious sign of damage to the headlamp connectors. One headlamp has a replacement connector that was installed by the aforementioned indy using crimp connectors.
* It's been my habit to drive with the headlamp switch in the rightmost position all the time.

It sounds like some sort of ground problem... but where do I start looking, and what's the best way to diagnose the issue? Or should I pony up and have the shop look at it? (Poor thing's been a bit of a shop queen lately... I like my indy but I'd prefer to have some spending cash after this paycheck...)

I'm hoping these symptoms will lead someone with an electrical schematic or past experience to pinpoint one or two places where a short or loose connection could cause this pattern of problems...
