I replaced the cabin filter tonight on my CPO'ed SAAB (Purchased 2/2006). The filter was absolutely disgusting. I bet it has been the source of the mildew/old sock/locker room smell I've been complaining about. I think the cabin filter was original because of a code date of 14 01 02. I'm thinking it might decode to 1/14/2002. I used the posting earlier to change the filter. Great instructions. I did have to cut a ty-wrap on the filter cover that held a large wiring harness. I bought the filter from Eeuroparts and bought the genuine SAAB filter. The only thing is the foam along the top had cutouts for the tubes. The foam I removed had the slits in the foam facing down and I put the foam over the tubes with the slits facing up. To install the foam the way the factory had it would require snaking the foam over the top of the tubes. Anyway, I can't wait to drive to work tomorrow to see if my car smells fresh instead of like a locker-room.
