If you drove it in, you didn't loose a link in the timing chain.
Having said that, if you have a valve train problem, don't screw around, have a flatbed fetch it to a good Saab specialist.
If internal workings get messed up, it'll get expensive in a hurry.
Gambling to save a hundred bucks could cost thousands.
