Last winter during a winter storm I had a really bad situation with traction control. It was as if the drivetrain was slipping and the tires were not spinning. I reported this to a dealer this spring and was shocked to hear the message from the tech who said it was just bald snow tires and that I needed to replace them because some of the cord was showing. Wow I needed to change tires anyway so Put summers on and inspected them. All tread was there. Maybe after several years they are not great but nothing that would cause a report of bald or tread showing. I suspect that he did not really look. So not I do not know if he even pulled codes. if he did and reset would that code (if it was there) be in a history or is it gone forever. I have a cpo car and certainly want to get this handled before it runs out. I did buy a code reader (not a tech 2) and wonder if I can actually read it myself?
Thanks
