Having driven through a 1/4 mile of salt water 2'-3' deep the best may yet be in your future. Salt is very corrosive and effects all types of metal. There are some things you may want to consider doing; alternatively, you could wait for the effects of salt water to mainifest itself. If you decide to wait the price of repair due to salt water corrosive action will increase.
The purpose of the following steps is to arrest a salt water corrosive process that is already underway; the time for preventing any effect is log past.
Steps you might take now.
1) Change engine oil and filter. Look for evidence of salt water in the oil.
2) The starter and alternator are pretty low. If salt water is corroding these failure is likely in the future.
3) Change transmission oil and filter (if applicable). Hopefully, you won't find evidence of salt water in the transmission.
4) Wheel bearings could be effected. I lost three for precisely this reason. Rumbling and vibration will be your first hint.
Consulting with an indy that has dealt with a car submerged in 2'-3' of salt water may give you a leg up on other items to consider.
