Trying to be fair..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Strange Invoice Pricing, ColMan, Wed, 3 Oct 2007 10:57:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Each car comes with it's own invoice, and some are less than others for the same car, not often, but occasionally there are some strange ones, but mostly invoice is invoice. There are price increases too sometimes as the year progresses.
Any of the buying services and internet sources, Consumers, Nada and the like, often handle things differently ignoring regional advertising fees and other details.
You can view the invoice on the screen at any Saab dealer if they really want you to see it and you suspect them of somehow changing it using copier/fax/scanner games.
Yes one of the tricks to selling Saabs is ignoring an available Saab to dealer incentive or non-public incentive.
Selling at invoice is indeed galling for old timers, but I was selling Saabs in the late 70's and early 80's and they weren't going for sticker back then either, at least in my market So Cal. Tough for a dealer to hang on selling at invoice, not much leftover. Many dealers spend their holdback or what's leftover below invoice on advertising, thatsa' common measure of how much to spend.
And of course a salesperson is always battling the manager/GM on the customer's behalf, that's the game, would you if I could?
