Thanks to all of you for your info on this problem - sounds like exactly what I'm having on our 2001 95 Aero. The "Service Theft Alarm" message pops up occasionally and the siren sounds with no ability to turn it off. I had associated the problem with wet weather, but ya'know our wet weather in the NW is in the winter when the temp dips a bit! Given the information shared here I think I can fix this myself - for a change. For what it's worth, in '92 I had to perform a similar fix on a BMW 325 which had a battery on the dashboard PCB that didn't make it the 10 year life either. Thanks, and I'll post a follow-up - ED
