1999 SAAB 9-5 High RPM 1300-1500 at Idle & Rough

I have a 1999 SAAB 9-5 2.3t with 60000 miles. I purchased it 3 months ago and have dumped in about $1500. Initially the car started a little rough and the idle was a little erratic, sometimes, when I was stopped. Finally, I received a P1230 error, replaced the Air Mass Flow Sensor, Throttle Body, and had the PCV Upgrade performed. Now the car idles at around 1300-1500 RPM and there is some smoke coming out of the engine when the oil cap is opened (I looked at the oil and after 1000 miles it is pretty black - it is 0W40 synthetic). The Check Engine light comes on again with a P1251 error and the car seems to be running hotter than before. Tried to reset the Throttle by clicking the butterfly with no luck. The car still starts really rough (sometimes dies) and then idles high and erraticaly. Has anyone performed the new PCV "upgrade" or had a similar course of action and had similar problems? Any suggestions on the next steps?
Thanks,
Valentin
