I bet there is a broken green wire right where mine was broken.
On my crar the plastic fitting that take the bundle of wires 90 degrees into the trunk is where I found the break. First pull the rubber accordian like covering back off the plastic fitting. The fittng has some ribs to hold the rubber sleeve just work them off. I found the small green wire broken right there as soon as the rubber sleeve was removed.
To get the plastic fitting off the inner trunk lid, use a large screwdriver and pry it off. There are fingers that hold it ibn place. they will release with a bit of pressure.
Once you find it just solder in a length of wire and use shrink wrap tubing with a heat gun or hair dryer. My green wire is a bit longer now but I juse pushed it into the trunk area. I also took off part of the trunk line grey trim. Push the center of the plastic rivets to release.
