I have a 2002 Aero 95 seden. I purchased it from a private party in late 2003 with 17k miles. It currently has 62k miles and has been brought to a dealership for every single factory scheduled maintenance. I just came out if pocket for the 60k service. Additionally I changed the oil every 3k miles and used mobil 1. Up till 55k miles I even used high octane premium fuel.
My reward? The car needs a new clutch and the transmission is having issues and needs to be dissembled and thus I need a new transmission. At 62k miles.
How mad should I be? I mean sure it was purchased second hand, but the guy I bought it from was selling all his cars as he and the family were moving to
NYC. He didn't seem like a guy to torque the car, plus it was 45k miles ago.
I have called SAAB and told them as a long time owner who has owned three SAABS and has done all the maintenance at a dealer I would like some assistance. They took my info and are schedule to call me between 12 and 2 tomorrow.
Does anyone know if I should hold out for this? Any experience with this process. Will all my dealer maintenance help?
In my mind this is a potential brand killer. I did everything that could be asked and for the car to go like this at this point is really sad. Lexus and Acura are far from perfect and they look awfully outdated in just a few years, but issues like this are far less.
I want to stay with my Saab, really, but what the heck.
