What's so funny about $11k off an a demo Aero or low mileage leftover Aero? That's pretty much the norm in Saab land.
MSRP or sticker price, or the actual transaction prices, either one you choose, $9k is an awesome percentage of resale value for a 79K car. I mean normally a 3 year lease residual is something like 45-60% with only 36-45k miles.
Your scenario of selling a 3 year old car with 80k for $14k when a superior new model with 6k goes for $28,600 is ridiculous. Even if a new one truly sold for $40k 14/40=35% is still ridiculous for an 80k car at trade in time.
You asked car salesmans questions. Who better than me to give you a shot of reality? This is not a problem with Saab or the design of the car or the headlights, 9-5 resale is average, not poor. I'm tickled to death with that as many exceptional, unique cars have poor resale. The equivalent cars from other brands that tout their resale, BMW 5's and MBZ E Class cost $20k more new!
