Since it seems as if everyone who posted a reply has not had their cars fixed, and I have, I thought I should give you some info. This has been heavily discussed in the past, but here is my summary, based on my own experience:
It only happens at 1/2 to 3/4 full.
It only is noticeable to the driver - I never was able to get anyone else in the car to realize what was happening. I actually could feel the thump sometimes, but I have a sensitive ass ;)
Most owners don't care. Others, like me, are bugged by this small irritation in such a wonderful car.
Saab will fix it for free if you ask them, but it may require them to remove the rear section of the exhaust system and the gas tank to install the plastic baffle. That's what the technician did on my car - he was concerned that he would damage the interior by trying to do the work from inside the car. It took him three hours and some swearing, but that was the first time my dealer had done the job, so I expect yours will be quicker and easier.
Just get it done at the 10K service, or sooner if you have any other warranty work, and don't worry about it any longer. The fix does not impact fuel capacity in a measureable way. Tell the service advisor you want them to install the "Fuel tank baffle".
