Check GenuineSaab's site, they had detailed pictorial instructions posted at one time to assist their customers with removal for re-programming purposes.
From Memory of Reading The Instructions:
It is located under the windshield cowl, in front of the passenger seat. The large wiring loom seen disappearing through the firewall in this location is attached to the ECU under the cowl. Unplug the wiring loom connector from the ECU, then unbolt the ECU from the car. Dropped screws usually fall into the front passenger seat footwell. I can't remember, but strongly suspect, that you should disconnect the battery or other electrical components before doing any of this.
