That's the same ball park our 2.3 '99 9-5s are in when driven locally, a combo of suburban and country but with no urban stop and go. On the open highway they routinely give 30+ at 70 or thereabouts.
Non-Aero 9-5s are cruisers that enjoy covering ground and comply but without pleasure when called upon to move their weight from redlight to redlight -- especially the 4 cyls.
Some years back, my daughter was at the wheel of my 9-5 driving us up the highway to a favorite restaurant in MA. Mine has the manual trans and Saab perf exhaust. It sounds beautiful winidng up. I was in the back seat, not paying much attention, but noticed we were passing everyone. "How fast are you going?" I asked. Quoth she: "Ninety. This BMW thinks he's going to pass me. He's not." And with that she stepped on it, pushing us back in the seats and easily pulling away from other traffic.
The 9-5 is stable (and thrifty) at speed, happily responds to the accelerator and gives the driver a feeling of complete confidence on the highway. (Though in this case I told the driver to slow down and get out of the passing lane.)
