. The early v6 engine was not turbo charged and was generally perceived as being junk. Later V6 engines, found in the saab 9-5 were asymmetrically turbo charged. I want to say that some 9000s had light pressure turbos but I only remember reading that...and have never seen one. That being said, these had nothing at all to do with the SAAB 99, which is a MODEL NUMBER. Check with the 9-5 BB, 9000 BB or NG900/OG9-3 BB.

As well, when you open up Saabnet.com, you will always see a picture add for saab 2.5 and 3.0L V6 engines. They are a GM design and fairly easy to find. Opel Omegas, Cadillac Cateras, and others used the same engine.

One thing to note, though, is that though saab has often been ignored due to its lack of bigger engines, they STILL got rid of the V6 TWICE. Apparently the new V6 they are using is of sound design.
