So I jacked up my car last night, and I couldn't really see anything wrong with the spring. The left side rear is roughly 3cm lower than the right. Since I'm poor, I bought some shocks online last night and I'm gonna replace them myself. I figure, if the spring is dead, I probably ought to replace the shocks too, since I'm just over 80,000 mi. So since I'd do the shocks either way, I figure that'd be the place to start. Of everyone I ask, it seems split 50/50 over whether it's the shock or the spring. ("Springs shouldn't break! Esp. not on a 5 year old car!" or "Shocks won't change the ride height!"). Anyone have any good pointers or know what tools are req'd for the job??
Thanks!
-Chris
