I had the same thing happen to mine last month. Twice in same week. I cleaned the sensor with electrical parts cleaner and bought a new one, thinking it would go out any day... Haven't had the problem since I cleaned it!
So, I have a spare waiting for me in my garage but car is doing fine now. I say try cleaning it first...
