I bought off Ebay a winter project 03 9-5 V6. It was crashed lightly but somehow the timing belt tensioner that also has the bosses for the engine mount bracket broke. The car does not run but has excellent compression in all cylinders and turns over freely. I must replace the timing belt tensioner and timing belt and believe that the current timing is not correct. Since the belt is worn, there are no timing marks on the timing belt that would allow checking timing.
Is there an easy way to check timing with the old timing belt in place?
There are two timing marks on each cam sprocket. Which one is used to align timing on the new timing belt?
