All,
Friend and I dove into the r/f wheel bearing replacement this morning. After removing the rotor i was expecting to have to simply remove the 3 bolts that form a triangle to remove and replace the hub and bearing assembly.
HOWEVER, with the rotor off, there was no way to get a socket (or wrench) into the top bolt (of the 3) from the back side. Sits hidden and surrounded by casting.
We then removed the bolts that connect the axle tot he A-arm to remove the ball joint, but we couldn't take the ball joint out?? we have the tool, is there something special?
Is it necessary to remove the axle to just get to the wheel bearing bolt or is there a trick?
Seems like a complicated design. why have a bolt if you can't get to it.
your help is appreciated
