And the answer is..... Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Fog light question MY99 & MY04, dtech, Sat, 8 Dec 2007 12:09:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The fog light assemblies are different for MY99 and MY04.
MY99:
45 62 633 (left side)
45 62 641 (right side)
Each assembly has 2 bulbs, one is for the fog light, and the other is for the cornering light.
MY04:
52 84 526 (left side)
52 84 534 (right side)
Each assembly has only one bulb for the fog light
The way in which the MY99 and the MY04 mount is different. It is impossible to determine whether they would be interchangeable, and even more impossible to determine the difference (if any) in the engineering specifications of the glass. Also, the physical shape of the glass lens appears to be different.
My own real world experience is that when new they are useless; when they have been cracked and dulled by dirt/sand blasted at 75MPH and road debris they become less than useless. I replaced mine with $8.00-each inserts made by Saab to fill in the holes after mine went through 200K+ miles of dirt/sand blasting. Note: Inserts are P/N 45 64 134 (left) and 45 64 142 (right). They snap in after you have removed the destroyed fog light assemblies.
