Yesterday near the end of my normal commute (20 miles, mostly freeway) the "low coolant" message came on the SID. When I got home the coolant was indeed low - near the bottom of the reservoir but not empty. No signs of leaks. I refilled the coolant after the car cooled completely. Next morning headed into work, the same thing happened again. Same amount of coolant lost (couple pints?). I looked at some previous posts and then I took the car home at noon to troubleshoot. It now refuses to leak or lose coolant! I've thoroughly checked for external leaks including all hoses and coolant bypass valve. Could this be head gasket leak? It's never overheated or used coolant in the past, so why so sudden and then it stops?
