...I have seen variations of this question a number of times so thought I might weigh in.
I had some similar questions and so I asked Amsoil directly their thoughts. To be clear, I asked specifically about the European Car Formula and "others" (in Amsoil line). I was told the European is a great line, but if it were "him" he'd persoanlly go with the ASL SAE 5W-30 bkz it has stronger detergents (I drive in constant stop and go traffic) that were prohibited in the European Car Formula to meet their standard (they still have great a great detergent formula mind you, just somewhat less due to imposed restrictions). The Series 2000 did not come up (perhaps the guy thought it more expensive and not necessary, don't really know...but I must admit I later was curious myself and when I finish off my current case will maybe give it a try...or not. The current ASL SAE 5W-30 I have been using for 7 years and I like it).
