I have 98K on my 2001 LPT, and while it feels a little bit soft at times, part of that is just the design - fairly soft bars, springs and tires. The upside is the ride is very nice, especially out here on the rapidly disintegrating Bay Area freeways. Despite the comfortable ride, it is still fairly well-controlled over heaves and dips, usually recovering within one full oscillation. The primary purpose of the shocks is to dampen those oscillations, so make sure you need them before you spend the money just to stiffen that suspension, and possibly ruin your ride quality.
