vaccuum line diagram?

I'm on an 'extended test drive' of a car from a local dealer pending some research into a weird set up check engine codes, and my two questions so far are on how the vaccuum hoses are supposed to be hooked up to the throttle body/intake. the mechanic that worked on it replaced them and didn't remember how to put it back together. I hooked one up to the hooter valve, and the other to the crankcase nipple, but there are still two coming off a small solenoid on the firewall not hooked up to anything.
Also, this car is a 2.3t but it has what looks like a RED DIC that someone attempted to paint black... Is this correct? I was sure a 2000 my cars would have the black cassette?
The car has only 65k on it but had its transmission replaced, the price is reasonable if I can get some adjustment for these seemingly minor items. I think it may need a new throttle body at most due to the 1260 and 1251 codes.
